Job Description

My client is seeking a Receptionist to ensure the daily running of reception is smooth and efficient and that the guests needs are met and requirements are met at all times.

Tasks:

  • €’ To operate the Hotel switchboard in cheerful and professional manner and to take precise messages.

  • €’ To take reservations for accommodation or meals as specified by the Reception Manager following each reservation through in the correct manner.

  • €’ Liaising with other departments at all times concerning the movement of guests and all departments can operate efficiently and effectively with necessary information.

  • €’ Following the correct procedures for all money transactions, to include reconciliation of all monies.

  • €’ Reconciliation of all business (breakfast, newspapers, teas, telephone calls and late evening beverages).

  • €’ To file registration cards in the correct manner.

  • €’ To welcome guests in a cheerful and courteous manner, wherever possible at the front door.

  • €’ To accompany arriving guests to their room with a brief description of the Hotel facilities, using the guests’ name at all times. To offer refreshments at the point of check in.

  • €’ To use guests’ name at all times and Not room name.

  • €’ To deal with all incoming mail and distribute where necessary.

  • €’ To complete banking procedures and days/month end procedures.

  • €’ To be responsible for cash floats and safe contents whilst on shift, ensuring cash is locked away or handed over after each shift.

  • €’ Produce Arrivals and departures list.

  • €’ To deal with outgoing mail.

  • €’ Complete shift check list and carry out shift duties as specified by Reception Manager.

  • €’ To be fully conversant with the facilities and services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information on to the guest in order to maximise Hotel sales.

  • €’ To ensure that you are always on duty on time and that your personal appearance is well groomed and in accordance with Hotel uniform policy.

Location of vacancy is approx 10 miles from Fishguard town.
